there was a stray cat at the park this weekend, so I called him over and took some shots of him!
thanks to my girlfriend for pointing him out to me, or I probably would have just walked on by!
poor little guy had scratches all over his head, and he was so friendly to me. a few minutes later we realized there were 3 other stray cats around too, but none of the others would let me get close.
exposure: 1/60 sec aperture: f5.6 ISO speed: 400 focal length: 55 mm
Great choice. Out of the three (?) shots this was the best one. It was funny how nice this cat was, I pointed him out and he just started walking towards us. At least he was nicer than his buddies, they were running all over the place.
Babe you captured the eye outstandingly. Look at the detail wow! Love the shot in black and white, seems like the best choice. The fact that everything seems to be blurred but the eye, makes it look good as well. Love the awesome lines created by the whiskers across the white background.
Everyone's already raved about the eye (which IS outstanding!), so I'm going to concentrate on the little details, which really do make the shot.
The texture of the fur is great. You really can tell it's a stray cat, the hair looks so greasy and coarse! And the chunks of stuff (his skin, other cat's skin, garbage, whatever)... really show up well! It gives this such personality and that makes it stand out above the many other cat pictures.
Short depth of field is awesome. I almost wish that you had left this in colour because I'm sure he had an amazing yellow eye!
As always, beautiful work, Patrick!

All the world's a stage,
And we are all merely players.
